The Chiemsee SUP Marathon around Herreninsel will take place on October 6th in 2012. It will be part of the NP SUP 4 Lake Trophy. The race will be about 11km.
We already know Bavaria has 307 Lakes and is a great destination for paddling. Check out these photos for some inspriation….
In 2011 there were races on Lake Starnberg and Chiemsee, 2 very popular lakes in the Munich area. This year this will be extended into the “NP SUP 4 Lake Trophy” with races additional races on Ammersee and Brombachsee.
The NP SUP 4 Lake Trophy is organized by German Windsurf Legend Alois Mühlegger, who has already successfully organized last years races. The event series will be sponsored by Neoprene brand NP. There will be price money for the top 3 male and female racers of each race. You don’t have to compete in all 4 races, but the overall winner (men&women’s) will receive additional price money at the end of the race.
The Chiemsee Race will be the last race of the series where the overall winner of the 4 Lake Trophy will be crowned…Last year the weather was terrible, 4 degrees and snow with up to 50km/h of headwind…..but we can also actually have T-Shirt weather in Munich in October, so we hope for better weather this year.

- May 12th: “Steinlechner CUP” in Utting at Ammersee
- September 23rd: SUP Nordbad Contest, Lake Starnberg, Nordbad Tutzing
- October 6th: SUP Chiemsee Insel Marathon, Chiemsee, Prien/Harras
